March is spring in Northern Vietnam, the start of the dry season with pleasant temperatures in the Central Coast, the dry season with pleasant temperatures in the Central Highlands, and the dry season with warm temperatures Southern Vietnam.
General Weather Patterns in Vietnam in March
Northern Vietnam may undergo several days with moist air and light drizzles in March which is due to weaker and more damp Northeasterly Wind meetings with other winds (Easterly, Southeasterly Winds…). The temperatures in the North are more likely pleasant for all month but the moisture, if the weather pattern happens, makes it feel not comfortable.
The Central Coast is to enter the dry season with sunshine, some overcast skies, and pleasant temperatures. The pleasant temperatures make visits to tourist sites and sightseeing tours quite good experiences. Those who spend beach holidays or seaside holidays should also have great times, too. This is definitely the best time to go for luxury beach holidays in the South of the Central Coast of Vietnam: Quy Nhon Beach, Tuy Hoa Beach, Nha Trang Beach, Cam Ranh Bay, Ninh Chu Beach, Mui Ne Beach and Phan Thiet Beach.
The Central Highlands experience the best time of a year: lovely breezes, sunshine and pleasant temperatures.
The South of Vietnam enters the hot season, hottest time of the year in March and April. It is plenty of sunshine and it is ideal for those who plan to have holidays by the sea or on the offshore islands in southern Vietnam. Those who are on beach holidays or family vacations in Vung Tau, Long Hai, on the offshore islands in Southern Vietnam should have great times!
It is good to note that the Northeasterly Monsoon is still dominant at sea and the sea may be rough all over Vietnam in March. Water sport activities and sea explorer tours, boat trips may be affected due to strong winds. This is not applied to beach vacations on the islands.
Those who plan to have luxury cruises on Halong Bay or Lan Ha Bay should have a great time too. But those who embark on adventure boat trips around the Cat Ba Island may experience rough sea in between the Cat Ba Island and the Lan Ha Bay.
Those who plan to travel by boat or speedboat to the Cu Lao Cham Island, Ly Son Island, Con Dao Islands and Phu Quoc Island should be prepared with rough sea still. And this is not a good time for scuba diving or snorkeling or sea boat tours around the Phu Quoc Island and Con Dao Islands. But it is fine to go on tours in the area of the Nha Trang Bay.
