Vietnam Weather in February 2023

February is spring in Northern Vietnam, about the end of the rainy season in the Central Coast, the dry season with pleasant temperatures in the Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam.

Northern Vietnam may undergo several days with moist air and light drizzles in February which is due to weaker and more damp Northeasterly Wind meetings with other winds (Easterly, Southeasterly Winds…). The temperatures in the North are more likely pleasant for all month but the moisture makes it feel not comfortable.

Still, February should be a good month for sightseeing tours in the North. Halong Bay could be a bit foggy for some days. Trekking tours provide good adventure experiences in the far northern mountain of Vietnam in February.

The Central Coast is to enter the transitional time between the rainy season and the dry season with pleasant temperatures. The rain is quite light and should not impact your Vietnam holidays at all. The pleasant temperatures make visits to tourist sites quite good experiences.

The South Central Coast (South of the Central Region: from Nha Trang to Phan Thiet Mui Ne) is in dry season now with very pleasant temperatures and lovely sunshine.

1/North Vietnam

The North of Vietnam entered spring on 4-February-2023. The air turned damp, moist and wet. There are rain dust (extremely light drizzle or extremely high moisture in the air) and showers. It remained gloomy and moist at the beginning of February.

A shower in the region at the beginning of February 2023 was unusual. And there was even a hail in Dien Bien Phu which was very very unusual.

- Northeast: rain, 14-19oC;
- Northwest: sun, clouds, rain, 18-27oC;
- Lowlands: rain, moist, clouds, 21-23oC;

At the end of the second week and beginning of the third week, a new spell of the Northeasterly Wind made the temperatures cold and the air dry again in northern Vietnam.

In the latter half the third week of February, there was a new spell of Cold Wind which caused a light showers in several places in Northern Vietnam.

2/The North of the Central Region (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh)

The North of the Central Region of Vietnam had some light rain, some clouds. The temperatures were 21-26oC.

There were spells of Cool Northeasterly Wind at the beginning of the third week and mid of the third week caused sparse showers in the southern area of this region. The temperatures were 17-24oC.

3/ The Central Coast of Vietnam (Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan).

The region had some cloudy days and some rainy days. South of the Central Coast (from Nha Trang to Phan Thiet) started having mostly sunny days.

- From Quang Binh to Hue: rain, clouds, some sun, 20-28oC;
- From Da Nang to Quang Ngai: clouds and sun mostly, 20-28oC
- From Nha Trang to Phan Thiet: sun, 21-31oC.

Due to the spells of Northeasterly Wind in the third week of February 2023, the Central Coast had some light rain alternated by clouds and sun.
- From Quang Binh to Hue: rain, clouds, some sun, 17-24oC;
- From Da Nang to Quang Ngai: some rain, clouds and sun, 20-27oC;
- From Quy Nhon to Tuy Hoa: some rain, sun and clouds, 22-27oC;
- From Nha Trang to Phan Thiet: sun mostly, some rain, 22-31oC.
