Detailed itinerary
0800 A.M Paradissa’s local guide and driver pick you up from your hotel in Vung Tau City and we head northeastward traveling in the area once an important resupply route for the South Vietnam Liberation Front Troops: The arrivals of supplies via Ho Chi Minh Trail At Sea, the transit on the way to the War Zone D and Saigon… Several Search and Destroy Operations were conducted and several battles took place in the region between the two sides.
Our first visit today is at Hoa Long Commune: the Long Phuoc Tunnel. We’ll learn about the formation of the tunnel system and the battles which took place here back in time.
Then we move on to Nui Dat at Long Tan which was the base the Fist Australian Task Force between 1966-1972. Have a glimpse of the former Luscombe Airfield and have panoramic views of the surrounding. Then travel past the once Fire Support Base – Horseshoe Hill (Mong Ngua Mountain, access forbidden) to visit the Discourtesy Rubber Plantation.
Our final visit today is the Long Tan Cross Memorial amid a rubber plantation where the Battle of Long Tan took place in August 1966. Here you lay your wreath and pay respect to your fallen heroes. We recall the development of the battle then travel to Ba Ria for lunch. After lunch, we transfer you back to your hotel in Vung Tau City or to the speedboat pier for your ongoing journey. End of our time journey and you enjoy more great adventures to come!
