The Tran Quoc Pagoda (Nation-Protecting Pagoda) is located on the Golden Fish Peninsula (Kim Ngu) in the West Lake (Ho Tay) of Hanoi. Having typical Vietnamese Buddhist architecture and surrounded by amazing natural landscape, Tran Quoc Pagoda is popular a pilgrimage point and a tourist attraction in Hanoi.
The Tran Temple in Nam Dinh Province is 4km from Nam Dinh City, 90km south of Hanoi. The site of the Tran Temple now had been the site of Trung Quang Palace and a temple dedicated to the Tran Royal Family. The original complex of the Tran Temple was destroyed in the 15th century by the Ming Troops. The Tran Temple now was built in late 17th century including three temples: Thien Truong Temple, Co Trach Temple and Trung Hoa Temple.
Trang An used to be a natural defense system of Hoa Lu, the capital of Vietnam in the 10th century. Much of the area with karst mountains, rivers and caves had been hidden from the public until recently. Trang An could be visited easily on a one day trip from Hanoi. Hoa Lu District of Ninh Binh Province was the capital city of Dai Co Viet (the name of Vietnam in the 10th century A.D), where the Dinh and the early Le Dynasties successively ruled the kingdom from.
Tu Duc Tomb was built from 1864 to 1867. The king selected the site and designed the whole complex himself. The tomb was finished when Tu Duc was still in reign and the king would often have retreats from Hue Royal Citadel to live and work from his going-to-be tomb.
Tu Le is a commune of Van Chan District, Yen Bai Province. The commune is surrounded by the Khau Song, Khau Than and Khau Pha Mountains which make it a heavenly valley.
Tuan Chau Island is on Halong Bay of Vietnam, 8km from Halong City. From the late 1990s, Tuan Chau Island has been built into an entertainment area of Halong City. There are luxurious resorts, theme parks, entertainment corners and casinos on the island. There is a quarter to the south-west of the island that's home to a small community of local residents, while the rest of the island is reserved for commercial purposes.
Van Long Nature Reserve is a flooded field surrounded by limestone mountains. Van Long Nature Reserve is home to a number of bird species which can be observed by taking a 2-hour sampan trip through the area.
April 1952, Raoul Salan was appointed to be the Commander in Chief of the French Forces in Indochina after the death of the predecessor De Lattre and the defeat of French forces in the Battle of Hoa Binh.
By mid 1954, the French had realized that it had lost the war to the Viet Minh and would not want to fight further. The Geneva Conference was held on the 20th and 21st of July 1954 to solve the problems in Indochina producing a number of agreements to settle the war. The set of agreements was called the Geneva Accord.
