1/ Weather and Climate, Best Time to Visit
There are four seasons per year in the area of the Van Long Nature Reserve each of which offers Van Long with different beauties.
1.1 Winter
Winter time from late November through January offers some blue skies, some days with haze. It is a dry time and it is best for bird watching tours and wildlife tours spotting the White-Shanked Langurs (Delacour’s Langurs). There are both resident birds and migratory birds at Van Long at this time.
This is also a good time for walking and cycling tours around the area of Van Long Nature Reserve.

1.2 Spring
Spring, which is from mid February through March, offers some sunny days, some days with haze, some days with drizzles. The landscape at Van Long is more likely covered in haze which bears a mysterious appearance. This is also a good time for birding tours and wildlife tours at Van Long. There are both resident birds and migratory birds at Van Long at this time. There are fewer migratory bird species from March though.

April is the transitional time between spring and summer at Van Long. It is mostly dry with mild sunshine and pleasant temperatures and this is a good time to adore the natural landscape at Van Long Nature Reserve.
1.3 Summer
Summer at Van Long is from May through August which could be anything from strong sun, typhoons (from late June through August)… This time is good for the rowing boat trip adoring the natural landscape of Van Long. At this time, there are only resident birds in the area.
1.4 Autumn
Autumn at Van Long is from September through November which is a beautiful period save for some occasional typhoons. It is mostly breezes, mild sunshine, pleasant temperatures and wild bird life gets busier from October when fall migration starts. 2.1 Natural Landscape
Van Long is a wetland area with limestone mountains. The landscape is like an ancient painting and it is beautiful all year round!
2 2 Bird Tours
Van Long is a great site for birding all year round. It is best to go bird watching at Van Long in autumn and winter when there are several migratory bird species present.
