The region is still much less visited compared to Vietnam's other travel destinations. Trekking in Ba Be and Cao Bang is for our adventure travelers who would like to stray from too deeply trodden tourist paths.
The adventure takes you to the most remote villages inhabited by ethnic minorities whose daily costumes are of different colors and unchanged for centuries. All meals are prepared by our adventure chef. Because of the climate and geography, the best time to take the trip is only from September to April: It is not possible during the rainy season.

Day1 Ha Noi – Cho Ra Town – Ban Tau - Cam Thuong (3 hours trekking) (L/D)

Detailed itinerary
Day1 Ha Noi – Cho Ra Town – Ban Tau - Cam Thuong (3 hours trekking) (L/D)
Our tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Ha Noi and we travel 270 km to Cho Ra Town. Lunch is at a local restaurant in Bac Kan Town. We arrive at Cho Ra in the early afternoon, proceed further to to Puoc Nom where we start a cruise on the Nang River. Visit a local market and a village of the Tay ethnic minority. Then, enjoy a 3-hour trek to the village of Cam Thuong (of the Coin Dao), the track is accessible only to pedestrians and horses, the scenery is beautifully untouched. Before reaching the village, stop at a primary school, meet the curious children of the village.

Day2 Cam Thuong - Cam Ha – Pac Ngoi (Ba Be National Park) (2 hours trekking) (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the home.
Continue our trek (2 hours walk) for the Village Cam Ha. The trekking route today is largely descending, basically it is easier and shorter compared to the previous day.
Upon arrival at Cam Ha village, take a boat trip to discover the virgin beauty of the Nang River. The cruise brings us to the various wild scenery of the lake and the stunning limestone cave of Puong which is 300 meter long and visit to the Dau Dang waterfall before lunch in a small restaurant on the Nang river.
After lunch, we continue our cruise into the center of Ba Be Lake, the largest natural lake in Vietnam. Disembarking the boat, we will trek to Pac Ngoi Village, a scenic village of the Tay ethnic people.

Ba Be National Park is an untouched area with waterfalls, rivers, lakes, valleys and caves in the middle of towering mountain peaks and alternating valleys. The region is inhabited by different ethnic minorities such as the Tay and the Dao.
Day3 Pac Ngoi – Cao Bang – Pac Rang Village (Quang Uyen) (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the home.
Departure for a one hour walk in the National Park under the shade of trees of millennium years old. Then, continue our adventure to Cao Bang. Have lunch at Cao Bang and a walking tour of the city. In the afternoon, proceed further to Pac Rang Village, home to the Nung An People.

Cao Bang is a small mountain town in the north-east of Vietnam, 300 km drive from Ha Noi. The city witnessed fierce fighting between the Vietnamese army and the French army during the period from 1946 to 1950 which is very famous with RC4 (Route Coloniale No. 4). The city is quiet and traffic-free, the security is just very good: the travelers have no difficulties navigating around...
Day4 Pac Rang – Ta Lung Trekking – La Village (15km trekking) (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the home.
Transfer by the vehicle to Ta Lung border town where we start our trekking into the wild of the frontier area. The trekking terrain today includes secret valleys with rice terraces and soaring limestone mountains.
Overnight at La Village, Tay ethnic people.
Day5 La Village Trekking (2 hours) - Lang Son (B/L)
Breakfast at the home.
Trek for 2 hours from the homestay to the point where our vehicle is ready to take us to Lang Son. The trip today is a historical road known for various important battles between Vietnam and the French during the war from 1946-1950. Lunch at That Khe.
After lunch, travel further to Lang Son.
Dinner and overnight in Lang Son city - a border town with China.
Day6 Lang Son Tour/Lang Son - Ha Noi (B/L)
Breakfast at the hotel.
In the morning visit to Lang Son: the cave Tam Thanh and Nhi Thanh, the Mac Dynasty Citadel.
Lunch in town.
