The Thung Khe Pass (also known as the White Rock Pass, White Cliff Pass) is in between Mai Chau and Tan Lac Districts of Hoa Binh Province. The Thung Khe Pass offers commanding views of the mountains, valleys and villages below. The top of the pass is often covered in fog in the summer.
If you travel from Hanoi, once you pass the Thung Khe Pass, the road goes down and fork that if you turn left you go to Mai Chau Valley, if you turn right you head further into the Northwest of Vietnam.

If you do not travel on the Thung Khe Pass but take the right turn instead, you’ll be traveling below the pass. This route is off the beaten path with captivating landscape of the Ba Khan Lake, Go Lao Waterfall, valleys and villages. You’ll adore the scenery all the way until this route meets Route 6 again near Mai Chau Valley.
