Travel Guide Overview to the Nguom Ngao Cave, Cao Bang
According to the Royal Exploration Team from Britain who inspected the cave in 1995, Nguom Ngao Cave, known by far, has the length of 2,144m and can be accessed from 3 openings. Paradissa didn't pay much attention to the Nguom Ngao Cave till the late 1990s when too much talk from the locals about the beauty of the cave and requests from our travellers: shame on us!
How to visit
When we traveled to the cave, we had to climb a little hill only to come to a valley in which there were corn farms cultivated by local Nung ethnic people. Walking for nearly a km through the valley was disappointing, and when we saw the tiny opening, we thought that rumors were always rumors! And we were wrong...
The opening of Nguom Ngao Cave in Cao Bang
Passing through the little opening, we merely did our job that since we were there we had to come inside the cave. But, we had seen so many caves in our life! It was only we have passed through the first chamber of the cavern, we were dumb-founded by the beauty revealing!

Colourful stalactites in Nguom Ngao Cave
It is large inside that we could walk comfortably and the path is flat and well lit. There are a lot of stalactites and stalagmites for you to adore. The cave seems endless and the winds are a bit stronger inside. Make sure you have your torch lest the case of power failure!

There is another branch inside the cave that access is forbidden. It is dark and slippery and there are quite a few rocks further inside. Someone must have gone inside to explore this part. If you proceed to follow the well lit path, then you come to another opening which overlooks another lovely valley and which is said to take some time to trek back to the entrance.
A part from exploring the cave, Paradissa also arranges hiking tours following hidden trails in the mountains around the cave which offer tantalizing views of the surrounding wilderness. The hiking tour from the Nguom Ngao Cave takes half a day and this is a hard trek with lots of steep gradients.
