Khau Pha is a mountain pass in Yen Bai Province linking Van Chan District and Mu Cang Chai District. The peak of the pass is over 1,200m above sea level and the length of the pass is more than 30km. The summit is covered in fog most of the time.

Khau Pha Pass does not look as dangerous as other high mountain passes in the Far North, but the view from the pass is just stunning. Communities living on the pass

 Khau Pha is 250km from Hanoi via Route 32. The road is in great condition nowadays. There are guest houses and hotels at Tu Le and on the pass summit.
