Prey Veng Province is located to the south-east of Cambodia. Prey Veng shares the border with Svey Rieng Province to the east, with Vietnam to the south, with Kampong Cham to the north, and with Kandal Province to the west. Prey Veng is on a busy transit route between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam).
Agriculture and fishing are the mainstays of the provincial economy. There are not many tourist attractions in Prey Veng Province; by far, it remains off the tourist track.
The provincial capital of the province is Prey Veng Town which is 90km east of Phnom Penh, 78km south of Kampong Cham. There are hotels with clean and simple rooms in the city, there are no luxury hotels in the province yet.
Prey Veng Province has two international bordering crossings with Vietnam: Bontia Chak Cray – Dinh Ba (Dong Thap Province, Vietnam) and Koh Rohka – Thuong Phuoc (Dong Thap Province, Vietnam).
